A student-run spark, lighting up Exton.
STEM Spark Initiative is a nonprofit built on one idea: a kid who gets to build, tinker, and ask "what if" grows up believing STEM is for them. We turn that idea into workshops, mentorship, and community drives across Chester County.
We're led by students and young volunteers who remember exactly what it felt like to sit in the back of a science class unsure if any of it was meant for them, and who are doing something about it.
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
Nelson MandelaSTEM isn't a subject. It's a habit of curiosity.
Hands beat handouts
Kids remember what they build, not what they're told. Every program leads with a hands-on activity.
Access is the barrier
Curiosity is universal; kits, mentors, and opportunity are not. We work to close that gap directly.
Peer mentors matter
Learning from an older student who "gets it" hits differently than a textbook ever will.
